About:

Bluey is a very sweet boy. He is low energy and likes to spend most of his day napping or relaxing next to his people. He was professionally trained and knows many commands, walks beautifully on a leash, has the best house manners and listens very well.

Unfortunately, there have been a few instances of Bluey being reactive. He tends to get grumpy when he is tired, and he can guard his dog bed at times. If his bed is placed in a low traffic and quiet area, he does great. Additionally, he can be protective of his home and needs proper introductions if visitors are over. With this being said he does GREAT with children and dogs outside of his home setting. These seem to be the only two instances where he shows these behaviors, otherwise he is the best behaved boy.

He is looking for an experienced family who can accommodate these quirks.

Came into rescue:

Bluey came into rescue after he started displaying reactive behaviors to the young child in the household (specifically when he was tired or trying to relax and she approached him). He was soon after adopted out to a family without children to prevent any further issues.

Shortly after adoption, there was an incident with a visitor in the household. Unfortunately, this incident did result in a bite. Although it was not major, it did break skin. This family states that other than this one incident, Bluey was the perfect dog. They just weren’t able to risk other incidents.

Bluey is now looking for a home with an experienced dog owner who is able to accommodate these quirks and to monitor him or put him away when company is over.
